Concrete Stamps and Pattern Stamp Rentals

Concrete stamps are a great alternative to using other materials that helps achieve a great look. Common uses are stamped concrete patios, sidewalks, and driveways.

Concrete Stamps Overview

One of the most popular forms of decorative concrete, stamped concrete can be a great alternative to using other more expensive materials to achieve the same sophisticated look. Commonly used for patios, sidewalks, and driveways, stamped concrete is specially colored and stamped to mimic the look of brick or stone tile at a lower price point.

Concrete Stamps Installation

Using concrete stamps can be a tricky process since the coloring and stamping must be completed before the poured concrete hardens. First, two layers of color hardener are applied once the concrete reaches optimal plasticity, followed by a release agent to aid with color contrast and ensure the stampers don’t stick to the concrete. Once the stamping process is complete, it’s finished off with a curing compound and a sealer. A non-skid additive can also be applied if you’re concerned about slip resistance.

While it’s optimal to stamp concrete when it’s freshly poured and still wet, overlays are also possible. If the concrete you’re hoping to upgrade is still in good shape, you can easily update your current flat driveway or patio with a stamped design that will revitalize the space.

Stamped Concrete Maintenance

Stamped concrete is a favorite of many homeowners due to its low maintenance requirements. It can be easily washed and scrubbed down with a hose and brush or a power washer. To keep the surface of the concrete shiny and protect against the elements it’s best to reseal your stamped concrete every 2-3 years. If you’re in colder climates, avoid using salt on your concrete surface.
